THE REBUILDING OF ROTTERDAM

Romneyloods

The Rebuilding of Rotterdam exhibition was the first joint project of Herman Kossmann and Mark de Jong. In the 120 metre long, tunnel-shaped Romney hangar, a time line was placed along high/low cultural narrative levels, of a specialised or popular nature. Many of what were later to become characteristic features of the Kossmanndejong studio can be seen in this exhibition: the use of different media forms, changing lighting effects and many different layers of information.
